Taking My Final Bow

As the curtain came down on the 2026 season, I also took my final bow as part of Laff-it-Off Productions.

After more than four decades, this was not an easy decision, but one that felt right at this point in the journey.

Laff-it-Off has never just been about what happens on stage. It has been about people, about timing, about truth told through laughter, and about creating a space where we could reflect who we are, honestly and without apology.

It started from a very simple place, wanting to connect, to tell stories that felt familiar, and to reflect everyday life in a way that people could recognise and laugh at, sometimes at the same time. Even as it grew, that never really changed.

Looking back, it’s humbling to see how that small idea became something so much bigger. What began as a production found its place in the cultural rhythm of Barbados, became a space for conversation, and an experience shared across generations.

Along the way, I have had the privilege of working with an incredible community of performers, writers, musicians, and supporters. Many found their voice here and, in turn, helped shape the voice of Laff-it-Off itself. That exchange is what made it special.

To our audiences, near and far, thank you for showing up year after year, for understanding the humour, for embracing the commentary, and for allowing us to share in something that always felt bigger than any one person.

While I step away, I do so with a deep sense of appreciation for what has been built and what it has meant to so many.

Laff-it-Off has always been about evolution, and I have no doubt that its story will continue to unfold in its own way.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
