Duane Alleyne

STAGE MANAGER

This season marks a fresh chapter for Laff-it-Off with the addition of stage manager Duane Alleyne, a multi-talented creative who has spent more than 15 years shaping productions across Barbados. With experience as a stage manager, assistant stage manager, prop master, sound engineer, set builder, and woodwork teacher, Duane brings a rare blend of technical skill and artistic instinct to the job.

A graduate of the BCC Theatre Arts programme, Duane has worked on major productions including CARIFESTA XIII, Sweet Badinage, OTT (Operation Triple Threat), the Pic-O’-De-Crop Finals, Party Monarch, and numerous NCF and Crop Over shows. What drives him is the magic of bringing all the moving parts together—creating safe, seamless, “everything-works” moments for performers and audiences alike.

Joining Laff-it-Off was an easy yes for Duane. A lifelong fan (thanks to a mother who never missed a show), he was thrilled to accept the invitation and reunite with cast members he’s worked with throughout his career. For him, this role is both a full-circle moment and the natural next step in a creative journey that began when he realised he couldn’t ignore the pull of the arts.

Duane sees himself as a “creative at heart,” someone who believes artistic talent can take many forms and who enjoys bringing ideas to life behind the scenes. His path into theatre may have taken a few twists, but every step strengthened the skill set he now brings to the Laff-it-Off stage.
